Career Highlights: Jayanta Talukdar an Indian archer who hails from Guwahati, Assam. He first came into the national consciousness in 2004 when
he won the silver medal at the Junior World Championship in the team event. 2006 was the most successful year for him. He
continued his impressive run by becoming the first Indian to win the gold at the FITA Meteksan World Cup. He followed it up
with a gold medal at the South Asian Games and a bronze medal in the team event at the Guangzhou Asian Games. In 2007, he
was awarded the prestigious Arjuna Award by the Government of India. Talukdar was top-seeded at the 2009 World Championships
in Copenhagen. He is part of the Men’s Recurve team that qualified for the 2012 London Olympics by finishing second at the
final qualification meet in Ogden, USA.
