Career Highlights: Kumari will try to cement her status as a rising star in the sport by winning India’s first medal in archery during her first
Olympic appearance. As a 15-year old, she won the 2010 Asian Grand Prix title and was a member of the winning team. Following
her birthday later that year, she finished second at a World Cup event in Shanghai and won a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth
Games. The next year, Kumari finished second at the World Cup finals and was a member of the second-place team at the world
championships. She earned her first World Cup victory earlier this year in Turkey, adding to a growing resume that includes
a pair of youth world titles. Kumari won one of those in the cadet division in 2009 and another in the junior division in
2011.
