Career Highlights: Specializing in the 400-meter and 4x400 relay races, Firova made her Olympic debut in 2004, helping the Russian 4x400 team
earn a silver medal. She won another silver in that discipline at the Beijing Games, where she competed in her first individual
Olympic event. Firova participated in the 400 and qualified for the final, finishing sixth among eight runners with a time
of 50.11 seconds. Following her Olympic appearances, Firova won a bronze in the 4x400 at the 2009 world championships. Her
best season, however, came in 2010, when she earned six medals in major competitions. Firova won the gold in the 400 at the
European championships, also helping Russia take gold in the 4x400. Firova captured silver medals in those same events at
the world indoor championships, and picked up another silver in the 4x400 at the Continental Cup, where she also added a bronze
in the individual 400.
