Career Highlights: Kalentieva will be making her third Olympic appearance after winning bronze at the 2008 Games in the cross-country event following
her debut in 2004. Her cycling career took off in 1991 when she left home at the age of 14 to concentrate on the sport. Three
years later, she started riding at the junior level. Kalentieva won her first World Cup in 2004 and later that year went to
Athens, but an illness played a role in her 13th-place finish. However, she made amends four years later in Beijing. Kalentieva
won her first world championship in 2007 and repeated in '09, finishing second in 2010.
