most notable performance in that event came while converting seven of his 11 chances in a bitter 26-22 loss to the host nation
and arch-rival Serbia in front of a hostile crowd of 20,000 fans in Belgrade. Kopljar also starred with seven goals in a group-phase
match as Croatia eliminated reigning Olympic and world champion France with a 29-22 victory. He plays professionally for Croatia
Osiguranje Zagreb, which is still searching for its first EHF Champions league crown despite making the finals four times.
