Heidi Loke
Sport: Handball
Nation: Norway
DOB: December 12, 1984
Hometown: Tonsberg
Career Highlights: The 2011 IHF world player of the year, Loke is looking to add a major piece to her handball resume as she prepares for her
first Olympics. She was not on the Norwegian team which won the country’s first gold medal in women’s handball at the 2008
Beijing Games, but made her national debut two years earlier. Her form has done nothing but improve since, especially during
a spectacular stretch in 2010-11 that saw her score a competition-leading 99 goals to lead club team Larvik to the EHF Champions
League title. Loke was named to the all-star team at the 2010 European championships as Norway won its unprecedented fourth
straight gold medal, and earned the same honor at the 2011 world championships as the country captured its second such crown.
She has moved on professionally to play for Hungarian powerhouse Gyori AUDI ETO as a teammate of fellow Norwegian star Katrine
Lunde Haraldsen.
