Career Highlights: Coming off a failed bid to wear gold at the world championships, Ivanov now has his sights set mounting the top spot on the podium in London. In November, Ivanov tried a clean and jerk attempt that would have totaled 413 kilograms to break a world record that stood for 12 years. The failed attempt left Ivanov tied with Kazakhstan’s Ilya Ilyin at 407 kilos. Ivanov settled for silver due to a heavier body weight. The silver was Ivanov’s second in as many years at the worlds. He also was a silver medalist at the European Championships in 2010.
