Career Highlights: A veteran goalkeeper who has been a member of the Italian national team since 1999, Tempesti enjoyed one of the top highlights
of his career a year ago by helping Italy win the gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships. He was elected best goalie
of the tournament, paving the way for him to garner Water Polo Player of the Year honors from Swimming World magazine. Tempesti
also helped Italy earn silvers at the 2003 World Championships, the World League in 2003 and '11, and the 1999 FINA Water
Polo World Cup. Italy's teams have yet to medal at the Olympics with Tempesti on the squad, with their best finish being fifth
place at the 2000 Sydney Games - in which they defeated the United States 10-8 to earn that spot. When not playing for the
national team, Tempesti is a member of the club Pro Recco.
