Pietro Figlioli
Sport: Waterpolo
Nation: Italy
DOB: May 29, 1984
Career Highlights: Though this will be the speedy Figlioli's first Olympics competing for Italy, the 28-year-old is no stranger to the Summer
Games stage. He competed for Australia in both the 2004 and '08 Olympics, in which the Aussies placed ninth and eighth, respectively.
Figioli has scored 25 goals in his Olympic career, highlighted by a four-goal effort in a 12-8 victory over Greece during
group play four years ago. He scored three times in a game on four other occasions - three of them in 2008, including the
9-8 loss to Greece that dropped the Aussies to eighth place. While his family has Italian heritage, Figioli was born in Rio
de Janeiro before moving to Australia, where he began his career. He moved to Italy and became a citizen after signing a deal
to play with Italian club Pro Recco in 2009. Figioli's nickname is "Rocket Arm." His father, Jose Fiolo, competed in swimming
for Brazil at the 1968 and '72 Games and once held the world record in the 100-meter breaststroke.
