Li Xiayan
Sport: Swimming
Nation: People's Republic of China
DOB: December 17, 1989
Career Highlights: With his large frame and exceptional strength, Li has been moving up the world rankings in the breaststroke and he is expected
to be a top contender in the 100 meters in London. Although he won that event at the Chinese nationals in April, it was with
a relatively disappointing time of 1:01.06 - more than two seconds off the 58.91 that won gold in Beijing. Li also took gold
in the 50 breast - a non-Olympic event - at those nationals. He participated in the British championships in March in an effort
to familiarize himself with the pool that will be used at this summer's Games, finishing second to Germany's Hendrik Feldwehr
in the 100 breast.
