Kaio de Almeida
Sport: Swimming
Nation: Brazil
DOB: October 19, 1984

Career Highlights: Almeida represented Brazil in the 2004 and '08 Olympics, but heads to London with more confidence than ever after swimming
stroke for stroke with Michael Phelps last season. Almeida finished a close second to Phelps in the 200 fly at the Indianapolis
Grand Prix last March, which was a marked improvement from his other Summer Games appearances. He finished 17th in the 100
butterfly and 19th in the 200 fly in Athens, and 15th in the 100 fly and seventh in the 200 fly in Beijing. Almeida set a
world record in the short course 50 fly in Dec. 2005, a mark that stood for nearly three years until Australia's Matt Jaukovic
surpassed it in Oct. 2008.
