Career Highlights: Taymazov in the most decorated Olympian in Uzbekistan history having won medals at three straight Olympics. After winning the silver medal in Sydney in 2000, Taymazov took home golds at the last two Olympics in 2004 and 2008. He earned a trip to his fourth Olympics by winning the Uzbekistan Olympic Qualification tournament in March and should be a considered a favorite to go home with a fourth medal. Taymazov has won the world championships twice (2003, 2006) and has earned two silver medals and one bronze at the world championships. He’s won gold at the last three Asian Games and has twice won the Asian championships (2000, 2011).
