after defeating the United States in the championship game in Beijing in 2008. She had a wildly successful 2011, winning individual
honors at the Pan American Cup and World Cup as best receiver, at the World Grand Prix as best digger and at the South American
Championship as best libero. Fabiana had only 48 faults in 423 attempts at the World Cup in November and finished third among
liberos with 6.32 excellent plays per set. She also finished fourth with 3.15 digs per set, committing only 39 faults in 226
attempts while making 129 digs as the Selecao placed fifth in the 12-nation tournament.
