Career Highlights: A rower for the past 25 years, Galtarossa will make his sixth appearance at the Games after earning silver (5:36.42) in the
quadruple sculls in Beijing. The now-40-year-old won bronze in that event in his Olympic debut in 1992, then earned gold
eight years later with Agostino Abbagnale, Allessio Sartori and Simone Raineri in a then-Olympic record time of 5:45.56. Galtarossa
also took the medal stand at the 2004 Athens Games, winning bronze in double sculls before retiring for three years. He is
a five-time world medalist in quadruple sculls, winning in 1994, '95, '97 and '98, and finishing third in 2002. Galtarossa
took the runner-up spot in the double sculls at the '03 worlds after earning a silver in that event two years earlier.
