Campbell Walsh
Sport: Canoeing
Nation: Great Britain
DOB: November 26, 1977
Hometown: Nottingham
Career Highlights: Veteran Slalom Canoer Campbell Walsh will be competing in his third Olympic Games at London 2012. With only a European silver
medal in the way of major honours to his name going into the 2004 Athens Olympics, Walsh was a surprise silver medallist in
the k1 event. Bronze medals at the 2006 and 2007 World Championships and the 2007 European Championships cemented his place
as one of the top performers in the sport, and he went into the Beijing Olympics as one of the favourites after claiming European
gold in Krakow. However he finished a disappointing 15th and saw compatriot David Florence match his silver medal of four
years earlier. Since Beijing, Walsh has won k1 team gold at the 2009 European Championships and picked up silver in the same
event at that year’s Worlds, but will be an outsider at the Lee Valley venue in London.
