Career Highlights: Starting off his career at a young age, Toledo Lopez won the under-17 world bantamweight title in 2005 and has not looked back. He had a strong showing in his first trip to the world championships in 2009, losing in the quarterfinals to 2007 world champ Sergey Vodopiyanov. Toledo Lopez only got better from there, winning gold at the American Continental Elite Championships in 2010 as he outscored his opponents 35-7. He went on to win silver at the 2011 worlds, giving a good fight to reigning Olympic champion Vasyl Lomachenko in the final before losing 17-12. In that bout, Lopez was knocked down early but continued to battle and lost the second and third rounds by just one point each. He then took home gold at the 2011 Pan American Games with a win over Robson Conceição. Toledo Lopez keys a Cuban team looking to finally step back on the worldwide boxing scene as a true powerhouse.
