Career Highlights: Kayaalp is in top form heading into the Olympics, having won both the 2011 world championships and the 2012 European championships, including a defeat of 2008 Olympic gold medalist Mijain Lopez in the world championship finals. He also won the World Cup, Golden Grand Prix and the FILA Test Tournament in 2011 and finished second at the European championships, capping off a stellar year for the Turkish wrestler. Kayaalp also had an excellent 2010, winning the European championship and two Golden Grand Prix events, and finishing third at the world championships. Along with Lopez, Kayaalp should be considered a favorite for the gold medal in London.
