Career Highlights: Belcher will be participating in his first Olympics, due in large part to the fact that his current teammate prevented him from making the Beijing team four years ago. The Aussie will couple with defending gold medalist Malcolm Page in the 470, as the duo head into the Games as the world's top-ranked crew. In 2007, Belcher and then-teammate Nick Behrens were ranked No. 1, but Page and Nathan Wilmot took gold at the worlds to end Belcher's shot at an Olympic berth. Belcher did not compete at the 2000 Sydney Games, but was still given the honor of carrying the Australian flag at closing ceremonies after winning the world title in the 420 class. Twelve years later, he and Page look to help Australia win consecutive sailing gold medals for the first time in history.
