Gavin Woods
Sport: Waterpolo
Nation: Australia
DOB: March 1, 1978
Career Highlights: Woods is a veteran of three Olympic Games, having played for the Australian teams that finished eighth in 2000 and 2008, and
ninth in 2004. Water polo is clearly in the blood of the Sydney native. He is the son of 1972 and 1976 Olympian David Woods,
the brother of Taryn Woods - who played for the Aussie women in the 2000 Summer Games - and the cousin of Bronwyn Mayer-Smith,
another female Australian water polo player from the Sydney and Athens Games. Gavin has had plenty of Olympic success in his
own right, scoring 14 career goals including at least one in six of the seven matches he played in 2008. His best single-game
Olympic performance came in 2004, when he scored three of Australia's goals in a 6-all draw with Germany during group play.
