Hannah Miley
Sport: Swimming
Nation: Great Britain
DOB: August 8, 1989
Hometown: Swindon
Career Highlights: British swimmer Hannah Miley is one of Team GB’s brightest medal prospects at the aquatic centre. Reigning European 400m medley
champion both indoor and outdoor, Miley is also the British record holder for both the 400 and 200 metre individual medleys.
Miley made her international debut in 2005 at the European Junior Championships, and her subsequent performances at senior
level saw her claim a place on the GB team for the Beijing Olympics. However, a sixth-place finish in the 400m individual
medley was the best return from her three events. 2009 saw the youngster improve to a fourth-place in the 400m and a sixth
in the 200m at the World Championships, before bagging four medals - including three golds - at the British Championships
just weeks later. One of the strongest members of the British swimming team, Miley is expected to compete for a podium place
in both the 200 and 400 individual medleys. Two-time Olympic Champion Stephanie Rice and Chinese swimmer Rongrong Zheng are
likely to pose the biggest challenge over the longer distance, while Rice is the one to beat in a competitive 200m field.
