Ki-Chun Wang
Sport: Judo
Nation: South Korea
DOB: September 13, 1988
Career Highlights: Ranked No. 1 in the world in the 73 kg weight class coming into the summer, Wang heads to London on quite a roll. He’s won
32 consecutive matches en route to posting nine straight first-place finishes, most recently at the IJF Grand Prix Düsseldorf
in February and the Asian Championships Tashkent in April. Wang first burst onto the scene five years ago by defeating 2004
Olympic champion Lee Won-Hee during a qualifying match for the 2007 world championships. He eventually went on to win that
event, and also took home gold from the 2009 worlds. At the Beijing Games, Wang took silver, and he'll look to upgrade that
finish as he comes into these Olympics as one of the favorites to stand atop the podium.
