Career Highlights: Shin is a rising star in his native South Korea. With an array of combination punches, Shin is highly effective and tireless
in the ring. He won his first medal at the 2009 world championships, settling for bronze after falling to David Ayrapetyan
by a final score of 9-1. Shin won his first gold medal at the Asian Confederation Championships in 2011 after defeating Singh
Amandeep 18-11. Shin had won each of the first two rounds by one point but opened up the bout with a big third round against
Amandeep. He then made an excellent run in the 2011 worlds, earning the silver medal after falling 20-11 to reigning Olympic
champion Zou Shiming in the final. Shin had won his first five bouts at that event by at least eight points apiece. He recently
signed to compete in a number of APB ranking competitions that will start in 2013. He is a favorite for the gold medal and
is ranked as the top light flyweight according to AIBA.
