Jae-Bum Kim

Sport: Judo

Nation: South Korea

DOB: January 25, 1985

Career Highlights: Kim, who first burst on to the scene after winning the world junior championships in 2004, heads to London with gold on his mind after taking home silver from the 2008 Games. Ranked No. 1 in the world in the -81 kg weight division as of May 19, Kim is coming off his fifth Asian championship - winning the event in April. Kim, who’s won a remarkable 92 of 100 matches since the start of 2008, won gold at both the 2010 and 2011 world championships. Kim also won bronze at the 2009 worlds and gold at the 2010 Asian games. Kim, along with Wang Ki-Chun (judo), Park Sun-Hyun (archery) and Park Tae-Hwan (swimming), should give his native South Korea plenty to cheer about at the 2012 Games.
