Lucas Lucas
Sport: Soccer
Nation: Brazil
DOB: August 13, 1992
Career Highlights: A rising star for Brazil, Lucas is a playmaking midfielder capable of creating scoring chances for himself and his teammates.
He’s emerged as one of the nation’s top young players with his hometown Sao Paulo, where he had 23 goals and 16 assists in
three seasons to garner attention from some of the top clubs in Europe. There were reports that a move to Italy's Inter was
imminent earlier this year, but the exorbitant offer was rejected by Sao Paulo. A strong performance at the London Games may
only increase his value and demand. Despite his youth, Lucas has appeared 11 times for Brazil's senior national team, scoring
once in a 2-0 victory over Argentina on Sept. 28 after being part of the Copa America squad. He scored four goals to help
Brazil win the 2011 South American Youth Championship, netting a hat trick in a 6-0 rout of Uruguay in the title match.
