Career Highlights: Maras will make his third – and possibly final – Olympic appearance this summer after finishing third on the horizontal bar at the 2012 European Championships. Maras’ Olympic experiences have not been positive ones, as he failed to qualify for the final round in his hometown in 2004 before falling off the bar in Beijing. Maras is a two-time world champion (2001, 2002) and a five-time European champion on the bar and is known for his Miller dismount, which includes a triple twist and a double-back. Maras, whose nickname is Sakis, also likes to snowboard, swim and participate in motorsports.
