Zuzana Stefecekova
Sport: Shooting
Nation: Slovakia
DOB: January 15, 1984
Hometown: Nitra
Career Highlights: A silver medalist at the Beijing Games, Stefecekova heads into London as one of the favorites in women's trap shooting. Since
her Olympic debut four years ago, the Slovakian claimed a world title in 2010 and finished second at the championships last
year. Before her breakthrough at the 2010 worlds, Stefecekova hadn't earned a medal in the event since claiming a bronze back
in 2003. The other high-profile win of her career came at the 2004 World Cup finals, an event where she would later twice
be runner-up (2006, '09). Stefecekova has finished in the top three at eight other World Cup stops, with three gold medals
to show for it. During one of the wins in that series in 2006, she tied a world mark by breaking 74 targets during the qualifying
round, then hit another 22 in the finals for a record total of 96 that still stands today.
