Career Highlights: Nicknamed "The Rocket," Roberts is a two-time medalist at the world championships, where he's found great success in team races. At the 2011 worlds, he was part of the Australian squad that won gold in the 4x100 freestyle relay and took home silver in the 4x100 medley relay. Competing individually in the 100 freestyle, Roberts did not advance further than the semifinals, placing 10th overall. He qualified for the London Games at the 2012 Australian National Championships by finishing second in the 100 with a personal-best time of 47.63 seconds. Roberts also swam to a fourth-place finish at that meet in the 50 freestyle. His late grandfather, Ron Roberts, played in the Australian Rugby League from 1949-51. He is famous for scoring the only try for Australia in a 1950 match against Great Britain which helped the country win the Ashes for the first time in 30 years.
