Edith Bosch
Sport: Judo
Nation: Netherlands
DOB: May 31, 1980
Career Highlights: Ranked second in the world at the 70 kilogram weight class by the International Judo Federation, Bosch is looking to win her
first Olympic gold medal. She reached the podium in each of the last two Olympics after making her debut in 2000. Bosch fell
short of gold at the 2004 Games, losing in the final to settle for silver. She followed that with a bronze in Beijing four
years later. Despite failing to win Olympic gold, Bosch has been a consistent star in Europe, winning four continental championships,
including 2012. Her only world title came in 2005, and she lost to top-ranked Lucie Decosse of France in the 2011 final. This
may be Bosch's last Olympics, and she may run into Decosse again as the two are both seeking to win gold for the first time.
Bosch has won five of the last seven tournaments that she’s entered.
