Elisabeth Osl
Sport: Cycling
Nation: Austria
DOB: November 21, 1985
Career Highlights: One of Europe’s most exciting young mountain bikers, Osl was introduced to the sport in 1998 as a 13-year-old when her older
sister - and now-fellow cyclist, Maria - signed her up for a race without letting her know. Nicknamed “Lisi,” Osl finished
11th in the women’s cross-country race at the 2008 Olympics in a time of 1:51:39. Three years later, at the Hadleigh Farm
course that will play host to the mountain bike venue for the London Games, she finished fourth behind Canada’s Catherine
Pendrel, the United States’ Georgia Gould and France’s Julie Bresset. Despite Osl’s fourth-place showing at the test event,
the 2009 World Cup champion is expected to be Pendrel’s main competition for Olympic gold this summer.
