Career Highlights: In 2004, Manaudou became the first Frenchwoman to win an Olympic swimming title, claiming gold in the 400 freestyle. She also
took silver in the 800 free and bronze in the 100 backstroke at those Athens Games. Three years later, she won three golds,
two silvers and a bronze medal at the world championships, but came under scrutiny later that season after leaving her coach,
breaking up with Italian swimmer boyfriend Luca Marin and having nude pictures of her emerge on the Internet. She subsequently
struggled at the Beijing Olympics, failing to medal in the 100 and 200 back, and the 400 free. Manaudou announced her retirement
in 2009, but returned to competitive swimming on July 14, 2011. She has a daughter with world class swimmer Frederick Bousquet.
