Career Highlights: Soumare, who specializes in the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay, made her Olympic debut at the Beijing Games as part of France's
4x100 team. She hopes London will be more successful, as her group was eliminated in the first heat when it botched a baton
exchange. Born in Paris, Soumare had a strong showing at the 2010 European Championships, coming home with one of each medal.
She won gold in the 200 with a personal-best time of 22.32 seconds, helped France win silver in the 4x100 and earned bronze
in the 100 with a time of 11.18 seconds. She lowered that time at the 2011 worlds, running her first heat in 11.11 seconds,
but put up an 11.47 in the semifinals and was eliminated. Soumare was also ousted in the semifinals of the 200 at the 2011
worlds with a time of 23.02 seconds after an initial sprint of 22.71.
