Career Highlights: A veteran of each Summer Games since 1996, Kasas has been the defensive anchor of the Hungarian teams that have claimed the
last three Olympic gold medals. Hungary finished fourth with Kasas on the roster at the 1996 Atlanta Games. The son of 1972
Olympic silver medalist Zoltan Kasas, Tamas learned how to swim as an infant and has been involved in the sport since he was
six years old. He has frequently been described as one of the greatest defensive players in the history of water polo, but
is also known as a good shooter and passer. Kasas won Most Valuable Player honors with his 20-goal performance at the 2006
European Championship despite the fact Hungary finished second to Serbia at that event. He helped Hungary win gold at the
1997 and 1999 European Championships as well as the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona.
