Career Highlights: Eight years after his Olympic debut, Mendelblatt will make his return to the Games skippering a Star boat with crew member Brian Fatih. He qualified for the 2004 Athens Games in the Laser division, finishing eighth. but failed to make the Beijing team. Mendelblatt, who has been sailing since the age of seven, switched to the Star after missing out with the Laser in 2008, and teamed with Fatih, who will be making his first Olympic appearance. A believer in balancing his sailing career with his family life, Mendelblatt is married to Carlina Borges-Mendelblatt, a competitive windsurfer.
