Jason Turner
Sport: Shooting
Nation: United States of America
DOB: January 31, 1975
Hometown: Rochester, NY
Career Highlights: Before a disqualification at the 2008 Olympics gave him a bronze, Turner had won his only medals in international competition
at the Pan Am Games. That changed when North Korea's Kim Jong Su, the third-place finisher in the 10-meter air pistol in Beijing,
failed a drug test after the event. That meant his medal went to Turner, who had finished fourth after a seemingly irrelevant
shoot-off with American teammate Brian Beaman. In his third Olympics, Turner will get to focus solely on earning another medal
in that event. He also qualified for the 50-meter free pistol in 2008, finishing 20th, but did not make that field for the
London Games. He competed in both events in Athens, tying 18th in the 50-meter event and 36th in the 10 meters. Turner is
a three-time gold medalist at the Pan Am Games and also finished first in the free pistol at the Championship of the Americas
in 2010.
