Career Highlights: One of New Zealand's most decorated triathletes, Hewitt has her sights set on a strong performance in London after finishing
eighth at the 2008 Beijing Games. The 30-year-old won the overall bronze model at the 2009 ITU World Championships. In 2011,
she won silver at the same competition.That came one season after winning gold at the 2010 Oceania Championships. From 2005-2011,
Hewitt competed in 58 ITU competitions and finished in the top 10 in 48 of them. She was an accomplished swimmer when, at
age 22, she shifted gears and began competing in triathlons. In 2005, she won gold at the Under-23 world championships. In
her first full season on the ITU circuit in 2006, Hewitt earned International Triathlon rookie of the year. That same year
she won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games.
