Nathan Cohen
Sport: Rowing
Nation: New Zealand
DOB: January 2, 1986
Hometown: Invercargill
Career Highlights: Cohen is due to make his second Olympic appearance after finishing fourth (6:30.79) in double sculls at the Beijing Games
with Rob Waddell. But unlike in 2008, when Cohen and Waddell were paired up only after Waddell was edged out by Mahe Drysdale
in singles, Cohen has been teamed with Joseph Sullivan for quite some time. The two have won the last two double sculls at
the world championships after most recently edging out the German team by six-hundredths of a second. Prior to Cohen and Sullivan’s
victory at Lake Karapiro in 2010, no New Zealand duo had won gold in double sculls at a world championship. The 26-year-old
Cohen said he never would have imagined winning back-to-back world titles, but he also knows that those results mean nothing
when the boats set up at the starting line this summer at Eton Dorney.
