Career Highlights: One of Australia's best long-distance swimmers, Gorman qualified for the London Games by finishing fourth in the 2011 world championships in the 10k. She made her Olympic debut in 2008, finishing 15th in the open water 10k and 17th in the 800 meter freestyle. Gorman is a two-time world championship medalist, taking gold in the 5k in 2009 and bronze in the 10k one year later. Her most significant achievement came at those 2009 worlds, when she stunned Olympic champion Larisa Ilchenko to win gold in the 5k. Gorman is a four-time Australian champion in the 10k and a five-time Australian champ in the 1,500m freestyle.
