Career Highlights: The individual bronze medal winner at the 2011 world championships, Kauter holds the No. 1 ranking in the world. He took gold at the Grand Prix Challenge Bernadotte in Stockholm and bronze at the Doha Grand Prix last year. Set to make his first Olympic appearance, Kauter is the son of Christian Kauter, a two-time Olympic medalist in team epee competition for Switzerland. Fabian's older brother Michael is also a member of the Swiss national team, though he failed to qualify for London in epee. Kauter is also a musician and released a solo album titled "in Summer Sibirie" in 2009.
