Career Highlights: Perhaps the best libero in the world, Santos will be making his third Olympic appearance for Brazil after winning the gold in Athens in 2004 and the silver in Beijing in 2008. He was the first libero to win the World League MVP award in 2009 and also earned South American championship MVP honors last year in helping Brazil claim a World Cup spot. Santos finished fourth in digging in helping Brazil place third at the World Cup to clinch a spot in London, committing just 48 faults in 204 chances. At the club level, Santos helped Sesi Sao Paulo to a fourth-place finish in the 2011 FIVB Club World Championship, a tournament in which he was named best receiver and best libero.
