Career Highlights: Ziegler will be returning to the Olympics for the second time, hoping to make more of an impact than in her previous appearance. She will compete in the 800 meter freestyle in London after finishing second in that event at the trials. Ziegler placed 10th in the 800 free and 14th in the 400 free at the Beijing Games. She had a strong performance at the 2011 world championships, winning silver in the 1500 free and bronze in the 800 free. Ziegler broke the longest-standing swimming world record when she shattered Janet Evans' mark in the 1500 free in 2007. She also won gold in the 800 and 1500 free that year at the worlds. Ziegler broke Sippy Woodhead's 25-year-old American record in the 800 free at the 2005 FINA World Cup, which at the time was the oldest American record on the books.
