Career Highlights: Uhl will compete in her first Olympics after finishing fourth in the 10K with a time of 32:03.46 at the U.S. trials. She made
the team because she had the necessary "A" Standard. "In high school I was just trying to make the state meet. This is a dream
come true," Uhl said. "I was just seeing myself get better every day. Did I ever think I was going to be an Olympian? No way.
It’s been a long, long process in the making." She is just two years removed from competing at Iowa State, having capped her
collegiate career by winning the 5K and the 10K at the 2010 NCAA outdoor championships. Uhl became just the fourth athlete
to win both events in the same year and first since 1996. Not surprisingly, she was named the NCAA female track and field
athlete of the year. A four-time Big 12 champion in the 10K, Uhl set a collegiate record in the 10,000-meter event with a
time of 31:18.07 at the 2010 Stanford Invitational. That marked the sixth-fastest time ever by an American.
