Becky SauerbrunnSport: Soccer

Nation: United States of America

DOB: June 6, 1985

Hometown: St. Louis, MO

Career Highlights: Sauerbrunn is a tenacious and skillful defender with the versatility to play anywhere on the back line, but she will likely be in London to provide depth. She was a member of last summer's World Cup team but only played in one match as a substitute. Her national-team career is limited due to the impressive depth of the U.S., but she's proven to be a capable reserve and has enjoyed a solid professional career. Sauerbrunn spent 2008-10 with Washington of the WPS and W-League, respectively. She played 50 games for the Freedom, raising her profile for the national team. Sauerbrunn made her debut for the senior U.S. team against Canada on Jan. 16, 2008, breaking her nose during the contest.
