Amy LePeilbet
Sport: Soccer
Nation: United States of America
DOB: March 12, 1982
Hometown: Crystal Lake, IL
Career Highlights: LePeilbet was emerging as a star for the U.S., but a torn ACL derailed her progress in 2006 and kept her from competing at
the 2007 World Cup and 2008 Olympics. Despite those setbacks, LePeilbet has become one of the team's strongest and most consistent
defenders, showing the versatility needed to play anywhere on the back line. Those traits were on display at last summer's
World Cup, as she played in all six games while helping the U.S. reach the final, where it lost on penalties to Japan. Her
return to the U.S. team was helped by starring for Boston in the WPS. She won the league's defender of the year award in 2009
after being drafted fourth overall a year earlier. LePeilbet is a strong defender and doesn't shy away from physical play.
