Career Highlights: Tied for the top ranking in the United States in women’s epee and the 18th spot in the world - both with sister Courtney - Hurley qualified for her second Olympics by helping the U.S. team win its first-ever World Cup medal in women’s epee, a silver at the St. Maur Epee World Cup in France. She qualified for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 as the only women's epee fencer from the United States to do so, and placed 20th. A member of the last seven world championship teams and eight overall, Hurley put together a strong 2011, winning individual and team golds at the Pan American championships and a silver at the USA Fencing Division I National Championships. She also placed 13th in the World University Games that year. Like her sister, Hurley attended Notre Dame and had a decorated career as a two-time All-American. In 2004, she was the youngest epee fencer to win at the USA Fencing Division I Nationals.
