Khadevis RobinsonSport: Track and Field

Nation: United States of America

DOB: July 19, 1976

Hometown: Las Vegas, NV

Career Highlights: The elder statesman of the U.S. middle-distance community, Robinson is going back to the Olympics just after he turns 35 - 13 years after winning his first national championship. “The difference is you take it for granted when you’re young,” Robinson said. “It helps put your life in perspective. This is not the most important thing in my life right now. I have a wife and two kids; I have things in perspective now.” Over the years, his countrymen have often had the perspective of looking at his back. He has won four U.S. outdoor titles in the 800 meters to go along with four more indoors, and he finished second at the 2012 U.S. trials to earn his second Olympic berth after narrowly missing a trip to Beijing. “It was all about making the team,” he said. “I got fourth in 2008 and I thought, ‘This is my time to win.’” Robinson barely missed advancing to the semifinals at the 2004 Athens Olympics, but he did reach that stage at each of the last five world championships.
