James Williams
Sport: Fencing
Nation: United States of America
DOB: September 22, 1985
Hometown: Sacramento, CA
Career Highlights: A replacement athlete for the 2008 Olympic team, Williams was called into the team event for the final bout and went on to
win the silver medal. He is a two-time gold medal winner in Pan American Games competition and also captured an individual
silver in it. Williams has been a part of five senior world championship teams and won gold at the January North American
Cup. He also earned a team gold in the 2011 Pan American Championships. Williams left fencing in 2010 for a job as a hedge
fund manager but returned to the sport later that year to pursue a second Olympic berth. His strong 2011 seemed to justify
the decision, as he won two of his team golds and added an individual silver at the December North American Cup.
