Nick McCrory
Sport: Diving
Nation: United States of America
DOB: August 9, 1991
Hometown: Chapel Hill, NC
Career Highlights: McCrory may be the finest college diver in the nation today, as the Duke student set NCAA championship records to win the
10m platform competitions in 2010 and 2011 before taking the past academic year off to focus on training for the Olympics.
He and synchronized platform partner David Boudia have finished first in six consecutive national competitions and figure
to have a realistic shot at a medal in London after winning gold at this year's FINA Diving World Series event in Tijuana,
Mexico. In the individual platform, McCrory finished second to Boudia at the U.S. Olympic trials in June, but took first place
at the 2011 national championships. His best international finish individually was a fourth-place effort at a World Series
event earlier this year. McCrory's uncle, Gordon Downie, won a swimming bronze medal for Britain at the 1976 Olympics.
