Jason Parker

Jason ParkerSport: Shooting

Nation: United States of America

DOB: June 27, 1974

Hometown: Omaha, NE

Career Highlights: Parker has collected a number of medals during his nearly two decades of shooting, but he has yet to earn one in the Olympics. He’ll try to change that during his fourth appearance in the Games. The U.S. Army sergeant first class and marksmanship unit member had his best Olympic finish in 2000, coming in fifth in the 10-meter air rifle. He was eighth in Athens but didn't crack the top 20 in that event in 2008 or the 50 meter three positions, his event for the London Games. Parker earned his seventh career World Cup gold medal earlier this year in the three positions and claimed his fourth all-time gold medal at the Pan Am Games in 2011. He won a world title in the air rifle in 2002 and is a former world record holder in that event. Parker has a degree in psychology from Xavier University and likes to compete in triathlons.
