David McKienzie
Sport: Volleyball
Nation: United States of America
DOB: July 5, 1979
Hometown: Littleton, CO
Career Highlights: While McKienzie has been a member of the U.S. national program since 2001, making his first Olympic squad marked a surprising
late charge by the opposite hitter, who only rejoined the team after current U.S. coach and former Long Beach State coach
Alan Knipe invited him back in 2011 to try to make the World Cup team. McKienzie failed to make that squad, but he was a member
of the U.S. team that secured an Olympic berth at the NORCECA Men's Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament, scoring
five of his 17 points on aces and posting an 85.7 kill percent efficiency. He opted to focus on club and beach volleyball
after realizing he was not going to make the 2008 Olympic squad, stepping away from the national program and playing in Puerto
Rico and Kuwait. McKienzie is part of a strong Long Beach State contingent on the roster along with David Lee and Paul Lotman.
