Career Highlights: Thompson will provide depth at the setter position as she makes her first Olympic appearance for the U.S., having often been
used in the double-switch role. She made two starts in helping the U.S. win its third straight FIVB World Grand Prix title
this summer and finished with an average of 3.85 running sets in 26 sets. Thompson also was a member of the bronze medal-winning
squad at the 2011 Pan American Games, notching 41 assists in the win over the Dominican Republic for third place. She played
professionally this past season for Puerto Rican side Lancheras, winning a title along with MVP honors, and previously led
Switzerland’s Zeiler Konizset to a domestic championship. Thompson was a three-time first-team AVCA All-American at Washington,
setting a Pac-10 record with 6,552 assists - third-most in NCAA history. She set an NCAA record by averaging 14.56 assists
per game.
